GRADES OF READY-MIX CONCRETE

  • ORDINARY GRADE CONCRETE
  • This nominal grade concrete includes M5, M10, M15, M20 grades which are used for low-weight bearing pathways and simple foundations. M20 is used in slabs, columns and beams in small residential buildings.
  • STANDARD GRADE CONCRETE
  • This medium grade concrete includes M25 used in medium-sized multi-storied structures,M30-M35 grades used in medium-heavy load-bearing buildings. M40,M45,M50,M55 grades are used for high durability structures.
  • HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE
  • High-strength concrete grades denoted by grades M60 and above are utilised in heavy-duty structures like skyscrapers, bridges, dams and high-load-bearing structures and buildings.

TYPES OF READY-MIX CONCRETE

  • SELF-COMPACTING CONCRETE
  • An easy-flowing concrete that flows on its own weight without the assistance of mechanical vibration. Used in reinforced and complex structures.
  • LIGHT-WEIGHT CONCRETE
  • Produced with lightweight aggregates like expanded clay or shale which weighs up to 70% less than normal concrete. Used to minimise structural loading or to improve thermal insulation.
  • HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE
  • With its lower water-to-cement ratio, it is optimal for heavy load-bearing structures like bridges, dams and high-rising buildings.
  • FIBER-REINFORCED CONCRETE
  • Small fiber particles like glass, steel and synthetic fiber are mixed in the concrete which reduces plastic shrinkage and enhances stensile strength ensuring impact resistance and crack resistance.
  • RAPID-HARDENING CONCRETE
  • Fast-setting concrete specially mixed to achieve structural strength very quickly, usually around 30 minutes, For projects requiring quick setting like road repairs or for setting up emergency structures.
